Stem cells are unspecialized cells that can divide indefinitely and develop into any type of specialized cell. They have a unique ability to self-renew, regenerate, and replace damaged tissue in the body — which means they can be used to help treat a wide range of medical conditions.
WHAT ARE FILLERS?
Fillers are considered medical device implants which have been approved by the FDA, for the use in helping create a smoother and/ or fuller appearance to the treated areas. Fillers may help improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and creases, enhance contours, improve the appearance of
depressed scars, plump lips, decrease the shadows under the eyes and help to balance asymmetries. Fillers are ideal for both men and women that would like to improve or enhance their features. Fillers are a great option to rejuvenate your appearance without surgical interventions.
The procedure of dermal filler administration is a non-surgical procedure done in our office. Multiple injectable fillers are available on the market that are able to restore youthful complexion and desired facial features. Fillers can be classified as either hyaluronic acid filler or collagen stimulating fillers.
These fillers can also be used in multiple areas on the body including neck, chest, hands, hips and buttocks, some areas are considered off-label according to the FDA, which will be discussed during your appointment. Most dermal fillers are naturally absorbed over time, so patients will need to repeat the procedure after some time to help maintained the desired effect. Most patients experience noticeable improvement within one or two weeks of their first treatment. Full effects of the neurotoxin takes two full weeks after being injected. In conventional medicine, BNT has numerous uses for medical conditions such as the treatment of migraines and blepharospasm to name a few. During the use of neurotoxins for therapeutic treatments, the discovery of BNT for cosmetic uses was founded. Here in the United States, we have four companies that manufacture neurotoxins, Allergan’s product is most recognizable neurotoxin Botox, because it was the first ever to FDA approval in the country, Galderma produces Dysport, Evolus manufacturers Jeuveau and Merz’s product is Xeomin. These neurotoxins have FDA approval for cosmetic purposes in the upper face.
The use of neurotoxins in the lower face and neck is considered off-label, but is still considered safe with proper dosing and correct injection sites. Neurotoxins are relatively painless, and the costs for each treatment is dependent upon the areas treated and the number of units that are used. Common side effects may include minor bruising and discomfort. Since neurotoxin treatment is temporary, to maintain results you will have to retreat every 3 to 4 months. Schedule a consultation with your Practitioner, during the appointment she will thoroughly review your medical history, medications and assess if a neurotoxin treatment is right for you.
